Daniel Good was convicted of the murder of Jane Jones and sentenced to death.

The trunk of Jane Jones was found in the stalls of some stables in Park Lane, Putney, 6 April 1842 without its limbs and head, and some bones were found in a harness room nearly consumed by fire.

Daniel Good was seen with Jane Jones on 3 April 1842 heading towards Putney. They had been seeing each other for about three years. They were seen stopping at pubs, and she was identified by her blue bonnet and dark shawl. It was noted that she had appeared reluctant to drink. Nothing more was seen of her again and it was never determined how or where, exactly she died.

Daniel Good denied killing her or dismembering her body throughout.
