David John on 15 June 1740 in the parish of Llanegwad burglariously entered the dwelling house of Evan Bevan and stole  a canvas bag (value 6d); a linen shirt (value 2/-); a flannel shirt (value 1/-); a pair of spectacles (value 6d); a pair of ....... (value 8d) and 2/6 in money (WALES 4/737/3).  Death sentence Monday 8 September and ordered for execution on 1 May 1741 (WALES 14/5 ).  No reprieve traced.  Unlikely to be hanged after 8 months.
