James Dunn guilty of stealing a black mare (valued at £7), the property of Alexander M’Williams, in the parish of St Bees on 5th February 1792.

The newspaper report of the execution refers to him as Dunn (alias Ryley, alias Kyle). The registers of St Mary’s, Carlisle record, on 1 September, the burial of “James Dunn (age 50), executed this day for horse stealing”.
