Monday, 17 September 1781

Thomas Albert Jones in the parish of Wrexham on 18 June 1781 forged a certain paper purporting to be a Bill of Exchange for £21.2.6 dated 23 May 1781 and to be signed by one Glover, with intent to deceive and defraud one Jane Davies, widow, to whom he gave it (WALES 4/59/8).  He was hanged on Monday 17 September Adams Weekly Chester Courant Tuesday 25 September.  Shrewsbury Chronicle Saturday 22 September reporting the execution states he was about 28 years old, fully six foot tall and a native of Builth Wells.
