John Holmsted (otherwise William Holmsted) and William Smith (otherwise Willam Constant) found guilty on an indictment for breaking into the dwelling house of William Pincent in the parish of Harlow on 9th March 1779; and stealing therefrom 9 linen tablecloths (valued at £2), a white counterpane (valued at 10/-), 5 silver tablespoons (value at £3), 3 silver teaspoons (value at 10/-), a silver pepper castor value at 10/-), a pai of silver knee buckles (value at 2/-), a pair of silver stock clasps (value at 2/-), a silver punch ladle (valued at 7/-), apair of gold wire earrings (value at 18d), a pair of stone buttons set in silver (valued at 1/-), a watch with silver cases (valued at £2), 2 silver crown pieces, 2 silver half-crown pieces and 4/6 in money numbered.
