John Wren found guilty on an indictment for a burglary in the dwelling house of Margaret Chauntrey, widow, in the parish of Barking on 3rd April 1776: stealing therefrom a pair of buckskin breeches (valued at 15/-), 2 yards of red and white cotton (valued at 5/6), a dark coloured silk and cotton gown (valued at 21/-), a light colour3ed stuff petticoat (value at 20/-) and a woman’s black satin hat (valued at 12d).
