Daniel Halls found guilty on an indictment for a burglary in the dwelling house of Elizabeth Wilson in the parish of Great Dunmow on 22nd March 1772: stealing therefrom 12 lbs of cheese (valued at 3/6). 4 lbs of beef (valued at 16d), half a wheaten loaf (valued at 13d), 3 hog’s cheeks (valued at 4/-) and ¾ lb of hog’s grease (valued at 3d).
