Richard Davis found guilty on an indictment for breaking into the dwelling house of Robert Barnard in the parish of Hanningfield on 29th March 1765; and stealing therefrom a pale blue vloth coat and waist coat (valued at 20/-), a pair of doeskin breeches (value at 2/-),  a pair of Russia linen drawers (valued at 18d), 3 pairs of worsted stockings (valued at 6/-), a pair of yarn stockings (value at 1/-), 2 pairs of leather shoes (valued at 7/-),  a man’s hat (valued at 4/-), a fawn silk handkerchief (valued at 8/-), 2 dowlas linen shirts (valued at 5/-), a silver girdle buckle (value at 1/-),  agold ring (value at 5/-), a silver ring (value at 6d), a pair of silver sleeve buttons (valued at 6d), a copper tea kettle (value at 6/-), a brass pestle and mortar (valued at 5/-), a linen sheet (value at 3/-) and a pillow bier (value at 6d).
