Joseph Ridgely Moore, aged 27, and Mary Melley, aged 30, found guilty of breaking into Hartingfordbury parish church on 10th October 1785;  and stealing therefrom a velvet pulpit cloth (valued at £4) and  2 linen surplices (valued at 20/-).
