Thomas Bibby (otherwise Beeby), found guilty of the highway robbery of Charles Marshall in the parish of St Peter within the Liberty of St Albans on 22nd April 1747: robbing him of a grey gelding and a brown gelding (each valued at 40/-), the property of James Olney: a leathern mail (valued at 20/-) and 10 leather bags (valued at 10/-), the property of the King.  This was a Mail robbery. He was executed between Colney and Saint Albans and afterwards his body was hanged in chains at the Gravel Pits, St Albans.
