John Clifton (and William Grover, respited) found guilty of a burglary in the dwelling house of James Lawrence in the parish of Offley on 25th December 1739: stealing therefrom 8 pounds of sugar (valued at 18d), 20 pounds of cheese (valued at 5/-), 14 pounds of raisons (valued at 3/-), 6 pounds of currants (valued at 2/-), 4 oz of nutmeg (valued at 2/6). 9 pounds of candles (valued at 4/-), 2 pounds of thread (valued at 7/-), a paper of pins (valued at 6d) and 16/- in money numbered. N reprieve traced.
