Mary Hilton murdered her husband John Hilton who she poisoned  by putting 20 grams of white arsenic into his spiced dumplings. She was convicted of Petit Treason.

She murdered him on 8 September 1771 in the parish of Middle Hulton.

She was condemned to be drawn to the place of execution and burned.
