David Griffiths in the parish of Trefeglwys on 3 February 1735 assaulted Lewis Evans with an axe made of iron and wood (value 6d) striking him on the back of the head and giving him a mortal wound 2" long and 0.5" deep whereof he instantly died (WALES 4/178/4). There is a David Griffiths to be transported for 7 years. Possibly not executed though the Minute Book of the Session has him annotated “Hanged”.
