John Carman (aged 38) guilty of being found at large in the kingdom before expiry of the term for which he had been transported having been tried at the Norfolk 1758 Summer Assizes for stealing a sheep (valued at 10/-), the property of John Brown in the parish of Thorpe next Norwich on 1st January 1758, sentenced to death but reprieved for transportation.
