Thomas Lee, aged 25, guilty of the murder of Richard Petty in the parish of Burnsall on 1st April 1766.  Richard Petty had been from Grassingham to Kettlewell to a Cock match and was supposed to have won some money: on the way home in company with Thomas Lee and others he was struck, beaten and throttled.  Afterwards his body was hanged in chains at Grassington Gate.
