George Alfred Rice

George Rice murdered Constance Inman 9 who he asphyxiated at 97 Dickenson Road, Manchester on 22 September 1931.

The jury determined that he had raped her during which he had strangled accidently strangled her with he bead necklace. It was put to the jury that if he had not raped her that he would have been guilty only of indecent assault and therefore manslaughter.

He said that he had met her as previously arranged and that she had accidently died while he was cuddling her which was suggested was his way of saying while he raped her.
