1801

Hugh Morris (otherwise Hugh Jones) on 5 May 1801 in the parish of Llanrug stole a gelding, value £8, belonging to Owen Jones (WALES 4/278/3).  The Quarter Session papers (Michaelmas 1801) record that the gaoler was paid for dieting Hugh Jones from 6 May to 10 October.  At the Hilary 1802 Session the gaoler was paid for dieting him further from 10 October to 28 November.  However, C&DH reports "Hugh Sir Fon for stealing a horse at Ty'nllan, Llanrug, executed September 1801."
