John Hoult on 10 October 1746 robbed James Moor of 2 gold moidores, value 27/- each and 6/- in money numbered on the highway in the parish of Holyhead (WALES 4/251/3).
Gloucester Journal Tuesday 12 Mayreports trial "They lay overnight at the same public house. In the morning JH offered to show JM (an Irishman) the road the Holyhead. he decoyed JM up the side of a mountain where he attacked and robbed him, beating him about the head and leaving him for dead."
