Sargent Philp was a blacksmith who murdered his wife Rose Philp 32 whose throat he cut at 31 Morby Road, Old Kent Road, London on 26 July 1912.

Rose Philp had gained a seperation order against her husband on the grounds of persistent cruelty and had then gone to live with her sister.  Sargent Philp who had just returned from Canada went to visit her on 26 July and asked her to return but she refused and so he cut her throat. After he said that she drove him to it.
